US pultruder to become British-owned
Time:2008-08-27
American GRP pultruder Creative Pultrusions is being bought by building and construction products group Hill & Smith Holdings of Shirley in Solihull. Creative Pultrusions supplied the cable supports for 783 miles of cables and optic fibres in the Channel Tunnel and has had a marketing and manufacturing agreement with Hill & Smith subsidiary Redman Fisher since 2006. This agreement enabled Redman Fisher to manufacture pultruded GRP products at its Telford factory with Creative Pultrusions providing technical assistance. The Hill & Smith acquisition of Creative Pultrusions will enable Redman Fisher to expand its product range.
Hill & Smith is paying £11·1 million free of debt and cash. Creative Pultrusions is based in Pennsylvania and has 185 employees. Annual sales to August 31, 2007 were £17·6 m.
