Finalists unwrapped for Bioplastics Awards
Time:2008-11-17
The finalists in the Bioplastics Awards 2008 have been announced, with the winners set to be revealed at an awards ceremony in Germany on 3 December.

This is the third year of the Bioplastics Awards, which are organised by PRW sister publication European Plastics News, and which are held alongside the Bioplastics Conference, taking place in Munich on 3-4 December.

Winners in the 2007 awards included materials group Braskem and packaging companies Amcor Flexibles and Alcan Packaging.

The 2008 finalists shortlist (see below) contains a mix of resin producers, processors and brand owners, all of which are expanding the markets for plastics made from renewable resources.

Nestlé UK’s new Quality Street packaging (pictured) uses compostable coloured Cellophane film, derived from wood products. Nestlé and the film supplier Innovia Films are finalists in the marketing and processor categories respectively.
